Bajaj Auto, Honda Motorcycle and Scooters India and TVS Motor have hiked the prices of their two wheelers, owing to recent increase in transportation costs.
While Bajaj Auto has hiked the price of its motorcycles by Rs. 300 to 500, TVS Motor has hiked the prices by 0.25% to 0.50% and HMSI has increased the price of its scooters and motorcycles from Rs. 200 to Rs. 800.
While two wheeler manufacturers have been under pressure due to rising competition and slowdown in demand, recent diesel price hikes translating into hike in fright charges has left them with little choice but to pass on the burden to the customers and while this is unlikely to have any major negative impact on the demand of two wheelers, from customer perspective, this is a sad development nonetheless.
