Honda to launch 100cc motorcycle in India

Written by: Yogesh May 28th, 2009

HMSI (Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India) is planning to launch a 100cc 4st motorcycle in India, by the end of current fiscal.

Honda’s 100cc motorcycle would be a completely new motorcycle according to the HMSI President and CEO, Shinji Aoyama and would be targeted at the premium commuter segment with a price tag of between Rs. 40,000 – 45,000.

Speaking at the launch of Honda CBF Stunner PGM-Fi, Shinji Aoyama said, “We will be launching a completely new 100cc bike by the end of this fiscal. It will be a bit higher priced than the entry level bikes in the market now, but it will not be higher priced than the 125cc bikes. The new 100cc bike could be priced around Rs. 40,000-45,000 and would not cannibalize Hero Honda’s products. I am not aiming to make the product a big business in terms of volume. But I want to satisfy HMSI customers who are looking to buy the product.”

its nice to introduce 100 cc bikes in honda please while introducing the bike please take care some of the customer interest reason to buy bikes. good power, better mileage average of 70 km per litre as per other 100cc bikes, and suspension should be like that so that no back pain should be there, and the power of head light should be very high. and other advantages such as mileage indicator, rpm, sidestand light, low oil indicator. i wish the honda new 100cc should be like this so that all the customer can buy honda better than other bikes.

  7. Every existing 100 cc bike has pros & cons. It will be interested to see the new features of new 100 cc bike of Honda. As far as the tradition of Honda is considered, it will certainly be a good product. Still it is expected that 130 mm brake drums, mag wheels, black coated engines and wheels, rear wider tyre in new bike.
