New Honda Unicorn R
Honda Motor Scooter India has launched an upgraded version of Honda Unicorn. The New Honda Unicorn has the following new features:
- Engine tweaks to make the engine smoother and increase pickup.
- Exhaust Heat shield has been given the same black treatment as the rest of the exhaust, making it some what more attractive.
- Honda has also decided to paint the sari guard in black paint to make the bike look sleeker.
- Honda Unicorn’s instrumentation panel has been changed to incorporate larger dials with brighter colors to improve readability.
- The new gear paddle is toe actuated, as oppose to the conventional heel-toe shifter in the older Unicorn.
- Honda has also added bar end weights to reduce vibrations.
- Unicorn also gets a Chrome plated 3D logo to enhance its looks.
Overall the cosmetic upgrades have managed to make the New Unicorn look more appealing than its predecessor which was never a bad package to begin with.

i decide to purchas honda unicorn, what about it ?
Honda really is showing very cheap attitude in india.
3 models of activa(including aviator) , 2 125cc bikes have been launched since the unicorn is launched(i.e. 5 years) and unicorn has undergone only cosmetic changes just 2 kepp it least up-to-date.
Honda is actually following other brands upgrades. It was the latest with alloy wheels,TRIP METRE , latest with black-engine and now since every other brand has digital speedos and led tail lamps etc. ,honda is sure to give these to unicorn soon.
Honda must lead and not follow.
converesely other brands just can’t follow unicorn. Because nomatter how much investment they meke in their engine refinement ,they know they cannot mach the power of honda and thats why they are concentrating on features and looks.

Don’t be confused yaar, Unicorn is crazy bike just go for it…even if u have doubt then just ride it once then u will come to know about this jumbo…there is no bike right now in market to compare with unicorn. soft ride, great comfort and balance…..

As rightly pointed out by someone above, their new unicorn with toe shifter is so stupid. It is not like a cbz xtreme or Apache where there is an extra linker to the shifter… It is just a half piece link to the gear box… They just cut the old gear shifter in half. How cheap is that, and they call it “sporty toe shift”.. sick man. This gear shifter could ruin the smooth engine.
The Apache RTR 180 cc is coming soon. Whats more, because of advanced lighter magneto, etc., the bike weighs only 140 kg. So, best power-to-weight ratio.
Finally honda is coming with 292cc 26.5Bhp Road fighter model for us.

i am kishor all the way from Nepal.i have been great fan of honda bikes.Among all unicorn is my favourite and the new honda stunner is ok with its 125cc.But i’m looking forward to those manufacturer company to make sth like R15 model of honda.i love the latest grand prix model of honda unicorn.Now its time for honda to launch sth new n sth stylish.It is the time coz right now all other companies like yamaha,suzuki and pulsar r manufacturing their products.since there r lots of neplese fan who love honda.u see there r not unicorn bikes right now in nepalese honda showrooms but few stunner r available.so i urge the honda manufacture comapny to build sth just great with Honda Unicorn.
Hi ganesh here. I booked uni last month. But this silicon honda showroom people making delay in delivery. About honda. Its new look is awesome. without any hesitation go and book ur uni now. But dont go to mysore rd showroom. They treat their customer very badly.

what will be the price of this new 150 cc bike ?????? As Stunner FI is really highly priced bike so i don’t know what could be the price of this new bike ???????

UNICORN HONDA WHICH COLOURES / PRICES DETAILS
New unicorn is good, except for that half-cut gear lever. The toe gear leaver should have connecting levers like in R15, Apache, CBZx, etc. Also, will the unicorn ever get digital gagets? The new Unicorn weighs 146 kg for a 150 cc. People can also consider the Suzuki Gs150 with digital speedo and which weighs 149 kg and the new, slightly bigger Apache RTR 180 which weighs only 137 kg. Obviously, both Apache 160 and 180 which weigh less have got better power-to-weight ratio, hence more pickup.

i jus bought a new honda unicorn 2009 model.It really rocks.But im not satisfied with its disc brake.Its response i quite slow wen compared to other 150cc byks.

I want to know in what segment upgrade will happen? 150cc or higher? I want 150cc bike only…not higher!
The new unicorn is just a cosmetic upgrade. No new tech in it, only a little new look. I am disappointed by Honda. I was expecting a new monoshock with linkage similar to R15. But Honda has retained the same old-technology monoshock without linkage. Even no digital gagets. The Suzuki gs150 is surely has a lot more technology like digital speedo, 6 gears, etc., except it does not have monoshock.
Gs150, Honda Unicorn, and Hunk for daily commuter segment with mileage of 50-54.
For instant power and sufficient mileage of 42-47 go for new Apache
RTR 160 Fi/ RTR 180 and also new Pulsar 150/180 or CBZ.
For those who have lots of extra money, go for the overpriced Yamaha fz16 and r15, mileage 40.
Its just idiotic to wait for the unicorn to get upgraded. just read the comments from May. Somebody is telling that it will come by june, and then by july and then by september and then by apr10. What nonsense is this?
i think the Suzuki GS150r seems to be a similar bike with better features and at almost similar cost. I feel that GS150r gets preference than Unicorn now.
I bought Honda Unicorn 15 days ago.1st service not yet done. Performance of this bike is great in all aspects! I’ve checked mileage for three times….57kms average.

I love the new honda unicorn r because it is so smooth while driving a bike. Its new color was very fine and its look like a sportz in black color.

Honda Engine is not upto the mark.new unicorn has rumoured to have some engine issues.
while for spares as well as service ,Indian bikes like Pulsars and Apaches are way better.new Pulsar UGIV is rocking great!

I got my Unicorn Black( with LOGO) and have run around 300 Kms in 7 days. Very much satisfied. It feels heavy to handle, but when we ride, really great feeling. Great confort, good balance , good control. overall a decent bike for decent people. I will go for firt service after 500 Kms

Noel from where u hv got this news. I hv found this news regarding unicorn uplift in feb 2009 but after more than 7 months they bloody hv not come with this new upgrade.

Feb 2010 ………. not again i am waiting from feb 2009. By the Way noel thanx for the info.But what i think if somehow they manage to launch it ..price will be too high. Because if see honda’s current strategy whether it is HONDA JAZZ, Honda Stunner FI , Hero Honda ZMA Fi all are high priced with some extra features. so most probably new unicorn could be in fz16 price range.This is my personal view only.
honda Unicorn wow its a super bike that i have ride.
smooth sound, excellent pickup, noiseless gear change and many more but one thing that a bit heighty for short people isnt it
