Honda Unicorn Sport Concept at Auto Expo 2010

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has displayed a new concept model of the Honda Unicorn, called, Unicorn Sport Concept at the Auto Expo 2010.

The concept bike in question was on display at the 10th Auto Expo in a beautiful and well executed maroon and off white color and featured a sharper bikini fairing.

Unicorn Sport Concept also featured well executed tank scoops, side body panels, heat shield and a rear disc brake.

While there is no word yet from HMSI, on whether or not Honda Unicorn Sport Concept would be launched in India, going by the track record of HMSI, we are fairly confident that Unicorn Sport Concept would soon see the light of the day, especially since HMSI is planning to accelerate its growth in the near future by launching new models and variants.

Honda introduces New Dio at Auto Expo

Honda Motorcycles Scooters India (HMSI) has introduced the newer and upgraded version of its existing Dio scooter at the Auto Expo 2010.

New Dio has been given a new and refreshing look. New Dio tries to blend the looks of a motorcycle with the comfort of a scooter.

The new Dio also features a new meter console design, sporty handle bar cap, stylish two-tone seat, mirror design, attractive clear winkers, sporty muffler protector, stylish Pivot arm-cover and new fender.

While the engine remains the same reliable 102cc 7bhp mill from Honda, earlier battery has been swapped in favor of a maintenance free one.

Harley-Davidson announces 12 models for India at Auto Expo

At the Auto Expo 2010, Harley-Davidson India announced that it will be bringing 12 motorcycles from its 2010 model portfolio to India.

Motorcycles from each of Harley-Davidson’s five model families will be introduced in India, to ensure maximum choice to the Indian biking enthusiasts.

Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Anoop Prakash, Managing Director Harley-Davidson India said, “For over a century, Harley-Davidson has inspired motorcycles across the world to celebrate their passion for riding. Our experience in leading the leisure motorcycle market worldwide makes us naturally suited to help lead and define leisure riding in India. We entered India with a promise to bring riders the pure Harley-Davidson experience with bikes from every family. Over the past year, we have listened to riders across India at our many events, and we have produced a line-up to stir their soul.”

Following models from Harley-Davidson’s five model families will be launched in India:

Sportster: XL 883L Sportster, XL 1200N Nightster, XL 883R Roadster and XR 1200X

Dyna: FXDB Street Bob and FXDC Super Glide Custom

VRSC: VRSCDX Night Rod Special

Softail: FLSTF Fat Boy and FLSTC Heritage Softail Classic

Touring: FLHR Road King, FLHX Street Glide and FLHTCUSE Ultra Classic Electra Glide (CVO)

Harley-Davidson motorcycles will be imported to India as completely built unit and will be priced between Rs. 6,95,000 to Rs. 34,95,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).

Booking for Harley Davidson motorcycles will begin from April 2010 at yet to be announced dealerships in New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chandigarh. Delivery of the motorcycles will commence from June 2010.
