Suzuki Motorcycle India Limited (SMIL) today launched 250cc Inazuma in India. Powered by a 250cc parallel twin, Inazuma produces 25bhp and has been priced at Rs. 3,10,121 (ex-showroom Delhi).
Speaking at the launch, Mr. Atul Gupta, Executive Vice President, SMIL, said, “Suzuki wishes to offer the Indian rider a product at every price point and in every segment. The Inazuma is a practical 250cc bike that expands Suzuki’s motorcycle portfolio into the premium segment which is showing growth potential. We believe that the Inazuma will be attractive for the youth, college students and motorcycle enthusiasts.”
Suzuki Inazuma would be imported in CKD format and would be assembled at Suzuki’s Manesar’s plant and would be available in black and red colours.
While it is heartening to see motorcycle manufacturers in India finally coming out with 250cc naked motorcycles (which is what I prefer over faired motorcycles). I believe, Inazuma is quite steeply priced and it is going to be hard to justify for many.
