Yamaha Fazer, Bajaj Pulsar 220DTSi or Hero Honda Karizma?
India Yamaha Motor has recently introduced Yamaha Fazer in India, at a price point of Rs. 72,000 ex-showroom Delhi. This puts it in the same price bracket of the newly launched Bajaj Pulsar 220 DTSi and the old yet gold, Hero Honda Karizma.
While Yamaha Fazer’s 150cc air cooled engine produces 14ps of maximum power, new Pulsar 220 DTSi manages to churn out 21ps from its 220cc heart and Karizma produces 17ps from its 223cc mill.
While I wouldn’t like to question Yamaha’s wisdom behind the launch of the new Fazer and feel it would sell, primarily due to its looks. I can not help but wonder, whether it was the right thing to do. After all as a touring enthusiast (to whom Yamaha seems to be pitching this motorcycle to), if I am out looking for a good touring motorcycle and have 72k budget, I would no doubt be looking at the new Pulsar 220DTSi or the Karizma, as they seem more fitting for touring duties than a Fazer, irrespective of whether it is touring on the highway, hills or off the beaten trail.
While I have no doubt that Fazer would make a nice touring companion, I just do not see the wisdom of going in for a 150cc 14ps motorcycle, when I can get a 220cc 21ps motorcycle for the same price and that too when there isn’t going to be much difference in mileage either!
Of course if Yamaha was to bump up the engine capacity to 200 or 250cc, Yamaha Fazer would have made one of the best if not the best touring motorcycle in India…

I have a pulser200cc . Ihave never experienced such smoothness with Blast handling. even at some turns in my pulser i cant think to turn at 70 speed. now i can make it without any fear of skeeding.

hi friends,in earlier days i used pulsur 200 .and now i took yamaha fazer . according to my conclusion,this fazer is so much better in controling,looks,smoothness,mileage. i saw so much difference between these two bikes,once if u drive this bike then u will never show any kind of intrest in any other bike to sit

yaar pulsar achhi hai and mein maanta hoon ki they have a lots of power…but looks ke maamle mein FAZER baap hai sabka…and its tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo comfrtable yaar…haan price thodi zyada hai but one can pay such a price for this WONDERFUL,BEUTIFUL,SEXY,HUNK,MACHO,ADORABLE,GOOD LOOKING AND A KILLER BIKE…LOVE U FAZER!!!

My fazer is just 21 days old. And its amazing.
When I go out with my Fazer then ALL stare just on my bike.
It feels very pleasing…

p220 is best.. and better than Fazer..!!Fazer is for one person not comfortable at all for pillion rider .. Pulsar 220 got the Power and handsome torque to pull you ahead … I recommend Pulsar.220 !! P220 got new gearbox as well and softcompound tyres too.. Which improves handling much better..!!! Yes Bajaj..!!
No offence to Fazer also.. its also a AWSM byk if you want looks but It has no yummy torque which provides bike like feel…!! try p220 and Fazer u will surely go for p220.. as i did..!1

i do have pulsar 220 it gives me a lot of problems and it gives 30 kmpl but pick up of pulsar 220 is really good when compared to other bikes but it is good for few months
it is waste after 6 months plz dont go for pulsar 220 1st month ur going to feel happy then after u r going to cry its gud to buy pulsar220 if you need to ride for few weeks fuck off pulsar

Hi guys I hate to the performance of Pulsar 220 or Karizma .I have Fazer and i enjoy it’s riding .It have awesome control and less vibration instead of Karizma and Pulsar 220.I advanced book this bike when firstly I saw it cause i believe in do different .KARIZMA AND pULSAR 220 ARE DAME SHIT ! BIKE

Go for YAMAHA FAZER!!! it rocks…. guyz i sold my 220Fi for dis… the most important point ws the built quality of the 220Fi… also it niggles at high speeds… if u wana go for a trustworthy bike thn go for the YAMAHA FAZER…!! Hai friends!its not apt to compare those three bikes in all aspects,
each bike has got its speciality with its versatile designs and specifications.It depends on taste of the rider.To me iam a die hard fan of YAMAHA!! since rx100 so i would go for the entusiastic fazer even though its 70cc displaced less than p220&zma, bcoz its YAMAHA! And fazer looks amazing like a racing bike with its spider man lights and solid tyres.YAMAHA FAZER ROCKS!!
just got a new blue fazer…can’t say anything about biking coz i’m ametuer but i have only one thing to say….the twin headlights rock..never in my life did i get so much attention which i’m getting with this one around..would have been better if price was 5k low…

i had pulsar 150cc but i am not satisfioed with its engine response and its performance…..before pulsar i had rx135 and its pickup..engine response was too much better than pulsar……now i sold my pulsar….and i am going to buy new fazer 150cc.////i took test drive and the bike is so smooth that is unbelievable….i really drive such a bike frst time in life…..fazer is awesome……

As some of you pointed out Engine reliability and resale are big issue with pulsar.
Karishma got reliability but is a decade old machine. Sad front cowl, ordinary Speedometer, ordinary suspensions, tires. though it give good pick up lags in top speed.
Fazer is not the greatest bike but each and every thing used in it is modern and quality and standard setting. the ride quality is superb and you can hit a speed break at 80 KMPH and still got away without a back pain. had a side to side collection with a AUTO rickshaw and got away without any scratch. Total performance is better than any other150-200 CC bikes (except Yamaha R 15)And definitely quality comes for price.
If you are a bike enthusiast and want to stand out of the crowed yes Yamaha. Karisma gives more power but dont have any significant performance advantages worth mentioning. BUT MY RECOMENTATION DO WHAT YOUR HEART SAYS.
Have a look at three bikes(Fazer,Pulsar220,Karizma)Together.
