Honda CBR650R launched in India

Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India has launched the new Honda CBR650R in India, which was revealed at EICMA last year. The Honda CBR650R would be replacing the CBR650F and compared to the 650F, it is a more track-focused motorcycle.

HMSI has not yet revealed the pricing of the CBR650R. However, it would be priced under Rs. 8 lakhs and the motorcycle can be booked for Rs. 15,000 at Honda’s Wing World dealerships.

Honda CBR650R comes with a 649cc in-line four engine and produces 94 bhp at 12,000 rpm, 5% more than the 650F. Torque curve too has been improved and 64 Nm of torque is now available at 8,500rpm.

CBR650R features a 6-speed gearbox and comes with Assist/Slipper Clutch.

The new chassis is more track focused and is 6 kg lighter as well to help improve power to weight ration and for faster side-to-side steering agility. New adjustable 41 mm Showa Separate Fork Function (SFF) USD forks offer superior suspension response.

Speaking to the media, Mr. Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Senior Vice President – Sales and Marketing, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd said, “Less than 2 weeks after the national launch of CB300R, Honda is proud to unleash its second global blockbuster in the middle-weight segment under the Silver Wing-mark umbrella. After the 2019 global fun model line-up unveil in EICMA, Honda has now opened bookings for its new middle-weight sports machine CBR650R in India too. With an aggressive Fireblade inspired bodywork, strong dose of CBR sporting intent & intense power, Honda’s Make-in-India CBR650R will entice fun bikers of India like never before!”
