Hyosung GT650R and ST7 launched in India!

Hyosung has made a comeback in India today, announcing its joint venture with Garware Motors and plans to bring in 650cc motorcycles through the CKD (Completely Knock Down) route, to be assembled at Garware Motors’ newly setup assembly line in Wai, near Pune.

Hyosung and Garware Motors would be initially bringing in GT650R and ST7 motorcycles in India, with plans to bring GT650 (naked version of GT650R) later on. And while the final prices have not been announced yet, but the company officials present at the launch did let out approximate figures for both the models and by the looks of it, the pricing seems to be spot on, with the GT650R full-faired version costing fewer than five lakh rupees on road and the power-cruiser ST7 set to be priced sub-7 lakh rupees on road!

Unlike it earlier foray with Kinetic Motors, Hyosung is planning big this time around and the duo are looking at launching the motorcycles in 10 cities initially and would be focusing quite a bit on the service aspect with plans to provide mobile service backup to all its customers, along with service at home option! Which is good news, considering the fact that the only chink in the armor of earlier launched Hyosung GT250 was the pathetic after sales service provided by Kinetic Motors.

Hyosung GT650R and ST7 would be available for booking, early next year and the bikes will hit the roads by first quarter of next calendar year.

  1. We are in for a lot of choice!! Yesterday was honda and today its hyosung!! this is great.

  2. Yup, choices are good and more will be coming soon.

  3. Prices are ridiculous. I will prefer buying a Harley 883 at 7 lacs instead of ST7 at 7 lacs

  4. But harley 883 is based model of harley cmpny …. and st 7 look is better than as campare to harley 883 ..
