Yamaha launches Yamaha Fazer in India

India Yamaha Motor has today launched a new variant of its hugely successful 150cc FZ-16 motorcycle, Yamaha Fazer.

While the technical specifications of the new Yamaha Fazer remain unchanged and are the same as that of its sibling, Yamaha FZ16 and FZS, looks have definitely been improved with the introduction of the new half fairing, which is quite similar to the one found on Yamaha’s 1000cc sports tourer, Yamaha FZ1 Fazer.

Speaking at the launch of Yamaha FZ16 Fazer, Mr. Yukimine Tsuji, CEO & Managing Director, India Yamaha Motor Pvt. We are pleased to have delivered on our commitments while being sincere to our customers. Today the investment comes alive in the form of this internationally bench marked modern manufacturing facility. New Fazer is the latest addition in our portfolio of technologically superior bikes including YZF-R15, FZ16 and FZ-S” which exhibit Yamaha’s global ingredients – Performance, Innovation & Design and are the Best Products currently in the market to fulfill the aspirations of Indian biking enthusiasts.”

  2. F another 150cc. yar i dont know when these people will understand that we want bigger bikes, higher bhp, higher torque. We were always angry on bajaj that they launch 150cc then 180cc then 200cc then 220cc. But yamaha has gone one step up 150(R1) then 150(FZ) then 150(FZS) now 150 fazer. In INDIA we have bikes of price range 45000 to 1 lakh then a sudden jump to 10 lakh. where one should go with a budget of 2 or 4 lakh. Where are 250cc or 400cc bikes???????????????????

  3. its a wonderfull bike , it shud be perfect in ride , but overall u one mistake is there its back looks shud be changed ,other wise no differnce between fz and fazer . peoples will think that this is yamha fz , but actually it is fAZER so change its back looks ,and after that u will be definitely see its result on the sale of this bike. thanks

  4. I dont think so that we will be able to see an affordable bike in India In coming 1 or 2 years. Reason being that the taxes o the higher end bikes are more in india.

LET ME TELL ALL OF U ONE THING i am a mechanical engg and i Work in a XYZ company(cant disclose the name) but! we are 2nd largest automobile manufacturer in world.
IN India homologation is a big issue.

    I explain
In India we cant manufacture a 150cc bike more that 17bhp. And many more irrelevant laws makes it very difficult to manufacture a complete bike.
In Europe R15 is of 21bhp but in india it is just 17bhp.

But yamaha is driving all of us angry by producing bike all in 150cc segment that too with such high price. Atleast they should have given a rear disk in fazer for a chnage .

Talking about kawasaki ninja 250r it will be priced above 2 lakhs. But bike still dont worth 20k as it does not have a v engine, produces 27bhp( even RD 350 is 30 bhp) no up side down front shocker. These compnies are just taking advantage that we dont have any other substitute.

I have royal enfield thunderbird and 220 fi. Now have a budjet of Rs 3 lakh but dont have any bike in this price range. I would preffer a comet over ninja in term of performance.

yamahanew fazer is good bike but I dont like the back look it is just like fz-16….if I will buy this bike then i will change its back look…..over all look hai to bike hai….

  9. can i fit fazer front parts in my fz-16

  10. Shivi Sharma says:

Hi…Its just a combination of FZ-S & R15.Yamaha has just add the front view with whole FZ-S, and launched this bike. There is nothing new.I think Pulsar 220 is the better option for a reliable bike.

  11. It looks good…….as if Fz 16 is modified…..Yamaha don’t have a new model….if the half fairing is added to a fz 16,it would look same as fazer…..i think the engine shoulld not be of just 150 cc….

  12. Hi Sir,
i need to fazer full head part.

  13. Nothing but 95% FZ and 5% R15. Tail lamp of FZ, FZS and now FZR is too small and look like it has lost its color (as it is light red).

  14. I think that its one of the great bike from Yamaha,, but one sugection to Yamaha, pls change the back view of Fazer.. other wise the people think that its Fz…

  15. its prize is exact rs.72000

  16. The rider says:

Everything is ok with the bike… But from my review I heard from many that FZ does not cross 120 while the apache and pulsar does… It is less in milage than the same sized engines of other bikes… All it has is a stunning look… Thats all..

  17. Tawheed Ahmad says:

    its Reallly superb

  18. l hate yamaha fazer.. b’cos mileage is very bad..price is more..

  19. Fazer fuel tank is plastic..itz too danger

  20. Its a good bike what abt its mileage.

  21. hai guys ,any body know how to burn fazer head light simultaniously

  22. Best in its class. Yamaha is rally cool to drive on the indian road ever

  23. fazer gives a mileage of about 45-48 on highways and 35-40 in the streets..keep the dim n bright switch in the mid position to burn the fazer headlamp

  24. fazer front parts can b fitted to costs around 8,000-10,000
